Hi everyone,
Just to say we spent a lot of time trying to find someone who could fix our heat interface unit. We spoke to Eon and Barratt and after many phone calls an organisation called Haydon helped us find someone who could service our unit and now we have hot water and hot radiators again! Haydon's sticker was on our boiler unit as they installed it when our flat was built.
Eon told us they have a contract with central heating care but they do not cover our area... so they couldn't help.
We now know that a normal plumber or gas engineer cannot service our units as they are specialised. You can contact them on 07970345731 (ask for Gail) or kenforsdykeplumbingandheatingltd@aol.co.uk
Hope this helps!

Good to know Jenna, thanks for posting the contact info. I will pin this thread so it stays near the top for others to easily find it in the future.

sorry for any confusion but just to clarify this is a specialist independent company who we found through contacting Haydon. Gail has asked me to say they're trying to get hold of Rebecca... thanks.

Hi all,
Since posting this I wanted to let you all know that we received a letter from Eon after our heat unit was fixed, saying that they do cover servicing of the heat units in Dalston Square!
As it is a relatively new thing to their organisation, they said that not all of their staff are trained to know this...
We told them about our situation and what we went through and they refunded us the fee we paid to Haydon, as they agreed that they should have covered this.
Hope this helps.
Jenna

Hi all,
Just thought I'd jump on this thread to ask if anyone knows how to find the reading for the heat interface unit? We moved into Collins Tower a month ago and have been searching for the reading but to no avail. I have called E-On who were as helpful as they could have been without knowing the layout of the flat but said that there should be an LCD screen near the heat interface. Or is this kept in a communal area outside of the flat?
Many thanks, Kayleigh

Jenna Hi Jenna Do we have to pay for Eon to service our heat units or is that included in the monthly service charge that we pay them? I know for the first 5 years they are covered by Barratts cover plan. Thanks Bob

Hi Kayleigh and Bob,
Think the reading is behind the white panel which protects your heat interface unit, you can take the panel off yourself but I'm not sure how to do the reading... sorry.
Yes, the letter which we received from Eon tells us that we can get the heat unit serviced by them and they cover the cost of this.
Good luck!

Hi Jenna, thanks for sharing. I got problems with the radiator as well so looking for someone to fix this. Do they have a website as well? Many thanks! On the notice board in Thomas Tower there are details of some firm who service boilers etc. I don't know of anybody who has used them yet or if they come recommended. Maybe you could give them a call to see if they can fix your radiator. Please do let us know who you end up using if they are good. Thanks Bob

Hi guys - I've just moved in to sledge and have no hot water or heat. I saw the note regarding Eon who said they were only responsible for broken meters. I tried calling Gail, but number wouldn't work - anyone got any suggestions - too cold for cold showers!

Hi Chloe.
It is not correct that E-On are only responsible for broken meters: They are responsible for the entire heat system up to and including the heat-exchange units (HEU) in our apartments.
As you have lost both heating and water, this is a very good indication that this is an E-On problem. Had one or the other worked, that would show that heat was getting to you, therefore probably not an E-On problem. (Note the difference between heat, which your own HEU converts to hot water and heating, and heating, the system of rads that warm your home).
Hope that helps, and give E-On a ring. ;o)
Mark.

Hi all,
Has any of you noticed at your flat the water is lukewarm / not warm at all during the evenings?
I´ve been noticing this first intermittently (after Eon latest maintenance works 7 ate Nov)and then on a daily basis over the last couple of weeks once my absences over the festive period ended.
Increasing the heat program for water has made no difference at all on the evening issue. The heating works fine (gladly) and the cylinder has been serviced yearly (last time in October).
I remember that in our last residents meeting a couple of Sundays ago someone mentioned this from either Marley / Joplin blocks (I´m in Thomas)
I got in touch with Eon (e.On?) but they say they have no records of this (which it doesn´t mean other residents have similar issues).
Anyone else finding this issue? Thanks
