Work on the Collins Wall has been temporarily haltedas advice needs to be sought from a structural engineer. As you can all see, the the outer brickwork have been removed, however a large concrete inner wall is still in situ, which is reinforced with steel that may be attached to beams below ground. The deconstruction is not as straightforward as first thought as vibrations in dismantling could affect the structure below, therefore Hackney Council are liaising with Barratts for advice.

An Update from Hackney Council:
The mention of 'the remainder of the works' refers to the fitting of a railing which will be fitted to the top of the reduced wall, but which is still in fabrication. When we hear back regarding this we will of course pass this information on.
