Unfortunately someone has recently been taking down my notices for some strange reason so I want to make sure everyone knows the state of play with some key issues at the moment........
LIFTS
Ocean/Dekker lift. The lift pit has flooded three times since March. We had presumed the initial cause was a large leak in the Co-Op store the but the ongoing issue is suspected drainage issues which Barratt’s are now working on.
Thomas/Burke lift. Following a belt change earlier in the year, the lift has had ongoing issues which Otis have now identified and will shortly repair. A member of staff was injured by the lift and therefore for safety reasons this lift has been turned off until Otis can repair.
I will be meeting with Otis area manager next week to discuss the ongoing issues with several lifts around the development, poor customer service from their engineers and failures with the contractual obligations.
I am also enquiring about the possibility of switching from Otis to other lifts companies when the lifts come out of warranty if Otis do not improve their performance.
I apologise for the continued inconvenience to residents of the above blocks
LIGHTING
We have now traced the cause of the lighting issues for the Square/Blues Street and Barratt’s are installing new equipment over the next couple of days to resolve this
Engineers have been working for the last couple of months to identify the ongoing issues on 5th floor Ocean House and have now identified the issue. Unfortunately we had hoped the works would be completed last week but the required parts arrived damaged and we now await further parts. As soon as they arrive an engineer will be back to resolve this.
