I am a member of the Dalston Square Residents Association Committee. Some consider me to be its Chairperson although I have not been so elected!
It seems I fell into the role, but I will be keen to hand it over before too long!
I strongly believe that an active Residents Association can make all the difference to our lives in and around the Square. I mean this both socially and in terms of getting value for money for the service charges we pay.
I live in a flat high up in Gaumont Tower and look down on an ever changing and developping project. Its exciting to watch it all grow. I hope it turns out as well as it says it will.
Some of the promises we recieved from Barratts and Consort when we moved in have not always been fully met. There are glitches in the buildings that need addressing.
It will depend on the residents holding the developpers to account to get things done and we will be more able to influence things if we work as an association with a strong voice.
So I hope people will use this site and come to some of the Residents Association events
Better still, :)If you feel supportive please come along to one of our meetings. New people are very welcome! We set out to make our meeting fun but purposeful.
